When no one is logged in, the
screen displays the CHESS logo and boxes in which to enter login
name and password. All users should log in as specuser; the
password is available from MacCHESS or CHESS personnel. Type the
user name, a C/R, the password, and another C/R. VUE will start
up and the 'front panel' control box will appear, as well as an
DECterm terminal window. |

To log out, move the mouse out of
any terminal or graphics windows and depress the right button. A
menu will be posted; go down to the Log out entry. Confirm that
you really want to log out by clicking on OK in the little
logout window. It is neater, but not required, to stop processes
such as terminal windows and remote logins (type 'logout' or
'bye' in the window) before logging out. |
